How close to things you fly?

I try and keep my distance with the Phantom, fun getting close to things flying FPV with a RC plane though, until you get stuck in a tree:

Soft braking may be great for smooth video, but it's definitely risky for aircraft survival while using FPV. Ever hear of overdriving your headlights at night? Same thing!

exactly my point. Got to be aware of both reaction and response times or close can suddenly become too close!

I usually lay out the close shots ahead of time, using waypoints. I make sure I have ample clearance, then manipulate the camera during photography to make it seem closer.

Switching to the new tripod mode should help to give safer precision control in tight spaces, once you are in position.
