As far as the GPS signal goes.. I was going to use an old cell phone I have to fly, the thing is the GPS module in the phone doesn't work. It doesn't see any satellites anymore. Do you guys or gals know if the actual P3 controller has a GPS module as well as the Craft? I obviously know the craft does.

GPS in the device you use is not required.

Its only required if you want to send changed Home Point to AC ... do Follow Me ... Orbital shoot ... any function that requires GPS data from the tablet / Phone to reference.
Normal flight only requires the AC to have GPS ...

You’d only need it on the phone to load maps in real time. If you know where you’re going to be flying, you can put your phone on Wi-Fi while at home or any network and pull up the area you’re going to fly in DJI go app, and load the map. Then close the application. When you get on site you open it up the maps will still be retained. Be sure to set the preferences on the app to allow caching of maps in the background
