GL300A Remote Controller help

Any luck with your USB board loonie?

Would you believe it, mine has totally died. I flashed it and everything worked perfect on the desk, and then when I put it back it didn't work. Then I pulled it out, and its dead. No output in the terminal program whatever I do.

Its using more than 1 amp from the power supply so something is not right with it. But then again, it was acting strange before I flashed it. It took some fiddling to get it in boot mode, and some fiddling to get it out of bootmode again, so it might have been sick from the start..

I did fix my gimbal board though :)

You don't need any knowledge of Linux to write the commands needed. Its all here: Flashing firmware on DaVinci media processors · mefistotelis/phantom-firmware-tools Wiki · GitHub

Put the kernel file on a USB stick and plug it in the USB port of the board.

Stop the bootprocess by pressing ESC within 1 sec after powering up the board.

These are the commands you need to type into your terminal program.
See the link for more info. Also make sure your kernel really needs to be flashed.

Code:
Dji-Pro # mw.b 0x80008000 0xFF 0x460000

Dji-Pro # usb start
Dji-Pro # usb storage

Dji-Pro # fatload usb 0 0x80008000 uImage

Dji-Pro # nand erase 0x04a0000 0x460000
Dji-Pro # nand write 0x80008000 0x04a0000 0x460000

I'm using putty. Board has to powered on for putty to read the board. I think i'm getting confused on when and where to press ESC to stop the boot process.

Hmm. You need to send an ESC key to the board within 1 sec after powering it up. Maybe thats impossible when you power the board with 5V from the TTL adaptor. Im powering up the board with an external powersupply, so my terminal program is ready when the board gets power. Maybe you can use 3 AA batteries in serial to power the board.

What I end up doing is splicing my 5v connection. I've got it to the point it will read the kernel. I just cannot hit ESC in time.

Well this is what I did.

Ok. Looks good. Before it was booting the recovery kernel. Try now, and see if it boots the correct kernel!

Code:

That should hopefully change, so it now boots from 0x4a0000
