Gimbal noise (with video)

My gimbal made no noise...until I recorded it with my iPhone, where it sounded like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building.

Gimbal must be allergic to the iPhone...

My first P4 from Apple had the gimble "squeak". Seemed to work fine. Had it about 2 weeks, and decided to return it for a replacement. The 2nd one does not have the noise (at least so far).

Wise move!

You cannot turn it off. When flying in ATTI, it does not use VPS to hold the Phantom's position. So, you can at least partially disable it that way.

Thanks for clarifying that. I looked through the P4 menus on my tablet, which are still accessible after returning the aircraft, and couldn't find a toggle anymore, so I guess we are stuck with P4 VPS, but it sure improves stability at 33 feet and under! I wonder about flying low over water though, since we cannot turn it off anymore...

Or, if you just don't want to use it. It's odd that DJI decided to remove that setting only for the P4.

Agreed, especially with all the problems we had with VPS on the P3P!

Had the same noise, tightened the hex screw on the arm from the board to the camera and it quit.

Has the noise stayed away since you did this repair? Was the screw you tightened loose? Or was it snug and you tightened it a bit more?
