Forced to Take DJI Exam?!?

Wow, old time college debate!! I actually enjoyed it, good points made on both sides IMHO. BTW the word is that all table saws may have to have the new instant stop technology by 2018 or 2019. If you haven't seen how it works check it out on youtube .............a guys sticks his finger in a spinning table saw, really amazing.

I don’t believe they have the authority and they overstepped their boundaries. We have our people who make the rules and license us. There is a proper structure to things. They just confuse things. Maybe it makes them feel good. You are right to feel the way you do. It is not trivial. DJI is a control freak!
When you give in a little, they always want more.
I was going to buy a djiA but have had second thoughts because of dji over controlling something that costs so much and after reading this I now will look into another drone.

I haven't flown my p3a for a month but I took it out for a flight yesterday and I had to take the test before I could fly. Looks like they are doing it with everything

Wrong. You do have to have a drivers lic to buy the car and drive it. Just my 2 cents.
Wrong on both counts, you do not need a driving licence to buy a vehicle, nor do you need a licence to drive one. You only need the appropriate licence to drive on the public road. It is perfectly legal for me to allow my 14 year old son to drive my tractor around my farm without a licence, however he is not allowed to drive said tractor on the public highway, I did not have to provide a licence nor proof of insurance to purchase the said tractor and it was delivered on the back of a trailer directly from the garage to my property.
But then again I live in a country that has so many rules and regulations and not the land of the free :)

I meant do you live in America? You don't feel you are free? You have a farm and vehicles and kids. You are not free?

I don't think it is a matter of law. It is probably a matter of state sale tax or loan policy or dealership policy but could be satisfied with another state or federal ID. But if you went in to pay cash you would still have to show some sign of ID for sales or registering.

But on that note the manufacturer does not make you take a test in order for your car to drive, to make sure you know all of the safety features. Your iPhone does not make you take a test on texting and driving. Imagine if they made an iPhone that would not work it it was moving! You are endangering more than yourself, texting, watching video, snap chatting while your driving down the highway at 80mph.
Should you do any of it? no but imagine the uproar if a manufacturer did that.

At that time Scotland, now I split my time between Belgium/Europe and Scotland.

Oh, and I feel free, happy and retired now. :)

Whatever you say Joe, you have it all figured out.

He might be happier (or not) in lots of countries ... but he made no comment about that.
He was just telling you that he's not from the USA.
No he DOES live in the USA. He was saying he doesn't like all the rules and regulations and doesn't feel like he lives in the land of the free
