Drone shot down in New Zealand by Hunter

what a disgrace, I would do everything in my power to find out who shot it down so that I could have a little "word" with them.

I found this comment interesting
I think the video Producer is responsible, notice the recoil as the shot rings off.

good comment, I wonder
I do too . From his headcam the recoil as the gun goes off just looked like to me he did it but that's just the way I see it .
I wasn't there .

Indeed... and in the "video from the GoPro on my head" you don't hear the guy say anything in response to a) hearing a loud gunshot and b) his quad falling from the sky... wouldn't most people at least say OMG or some such?...

Very suspicious...

My guess is there were 3 people involved in this fabrication -- the pilot, the camera man, and the shooter. Why can't the person doing the filming keep the drone in frame? Because he was probably glancing over at the shooter to get an idea of when he was going to pull the trigger. And then he jumps when the gun goes off in anticipation. IMO this video is total BS.

Couldn't agree more - looks very suspicious - what I noticed was.....

1. Drone goes out of sight of head cam just before shot is fired (would do that when the persons head was tilted back while raising/pointing rifle to sight drone)

2. For certain the "jerking" of the film at same time as shot fired (as stated re-coil from rifle)

3. Not a word from the operator (think most would have been cursing when that happened)

Could have just flinched with the rifle report. Pretty damned good shot, however.

Although shooting anything other than game is definitely frowned up, buzzing around in a UAV during hunting season is neither appropriate nor intelligent. In many states in the US, interfering with a hunt can land you into serious trouble.

Definitely a possibility I never thought of - was a great shot - lol!

Edit: watched it again a couple of times - and leaning more towards a setup! But why?

I've considered shooting one of my P3's which insists on vibrating so bad you'd think it belonged to a porn star.

OUCH - could be a lot of prop scars!

He has a second vid from the quad he never turns and try's to hold one position . I call BS on this one .
He runs away on video above but yet has the GP footage from the quad

This looks like the same bird he used in his other thread about fishing .
He posted this and then left 18 minutes later so what that tell ya .

If the video recorder was responsible, why would he have shot it? He could have grabbed it thirty seconds earlier. Definitely a fabrication.

The bullet came from above the drone see the pic it was impossible it was me or the shooter was near me. I recorded on my head as the last one flew away to space never came back and the company did not believe me so I had to make heaps of noise to get a new one.
The New Zealand agent JC MATTHEWS were complete pricks about it. They told me to film the drone because if it happens again I will not get a replacement without proof.
