Until today I've had no problem with the current DJI P2V software. I'm fully updated, including Android version 1.0.40 on a 2012 Nexus 7.
I flew in two different locations today. At the second location, I was slowly coming down from just over 300 feet and moving backwards towards me, when the klaxon went off. I knew I had approx 50% battery left but It was a bright day, and I couldn't concentrate on the screen, to see what was up, and the aircraft at the same time. I chose the aircraft. I got down to about fifty feet when I realized I was no longer bringing her down. She was coming down on her own.
I also noticed that if I gave the TX full ascend, I could override the forced landing... kind of. With the left stick all the way up, the aircraft stopped descending and very slowly went up. I wish I would have put it in ATTI mode at this point to see if I could regain full control, but I was more intent on getting her down. After finally hand landing her, I was able to view the app and it showed two percent battery available. I could see by the battery lights that I had about 50% still in the tank... So... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot !!!
I turned off the battery, turned off the extender and turned off the TX. I then immediately turned on the TX, turned on the extender and turned on the battery. The app should 42% available.
Is this a battery pin problem? A firmware problem? A hardware problem? Whichever it is, I'm now way out of my comfort zone with this freakin' thing. :x
