you don't need a special cable to do the firmware update.
just a regular phone charging cable will work
run this cable from your computer to the a/c than go through the
dji assistant 2 app.
this is what I did and it updated the first time.

Nope, not sure one was provided for lightning on my controller ipad to microUSB on the drone. If it was, that would mean they intended Apple to be the target interface...possible, but doesn’t seem likely to me.

my I pad mini 4 came with a lightening cable.
