Compass error P3A

I’m getting the old compass error warning more often than I’d like. It happens mostly on start up. I’ve calibrated it several times in metal free locations.

What is the exact warning message?
Where is your Phantom sitting when this happens?
Do you still see the message if you walk away from your Phantom?
Are you able to reproduce it right now?

Compass stuck restart aircraft. It’s sitting in the yard about 20 yards from the house which my normal home spot. Yes it is still there when I walk away. I tap on the top of the AC and restart. It rarely does it twice in a row. It has happened in flight twice. I went out and started her up and of course no warning. It’s beginning to drizzle rain a bit. When it clears I’ll try to reproduce the error message again. Thanks

Are you running the current Phantom firmware?

I received this AC on Oct 23rd.

Try installing the current firmware to see if it resolves that issue. If that does not fix the problem, then contact DJI Support for help.

The upgrading isn’t what terrifies me. It’s the results all of the horror stories I’ve read.

Well, don't be those people. Follow the instructions carefully

upgrade firmware to latest version 1.11.2(good fw) and change compass module.
for install new compass without disassemble body shell you need ph0 screwdriver, soldering iron and new compass.
