Changing the Receiver and Transmitter

Right, why don't we make this one sticky? Lets all talk about different controller and receiver combos people have installed in there Phantoms. I am looking to change the Receiver and transmitter for my FC40 so I can get much longer range. Does anyone have any recommendations? I live in the UK

I've been looking at fatuba but I am unsure how to configure ect? Lets hear your stories!

Even though the conversion is relatively straight forward with the Phantom V1 and V2 you may experience operational problems if swapping the receiver in the Visions and the FC40. These latter variants of the Phantom use 5.8GHz for the control as the cameras onboard use the 2.4GHz WiFi allocation.

If you were to swap out the receiver for a third party, there are no third party 5.8GHz systems to the best of my knowledge, you will definitely experience severe issues with your received video and quite possibly compromised performance with control.
