APP brightness on IOS devices

When i first got my PV2 some weeks ago and downloaded the iPhone app i was a bit supprised as to how dark the screen was even when i turned the brightness up to full on my iPhone 4S. So i thought, as i need glasses to read that id get an iPad mini, but i have the same problem, the picture from the camera and all the info, satellites, sd card, battery % etc etc, in the app is hard to see even if I'm in a shaded area. Anyone else have this problem or a solution? And don't say buy an Android device.

I built a sun shade for the mini out of a plastic folder. It allows me to see all the screen and the icons without trouble.

Don't forget to turn off auto brightness.
Also if you use a external power source for your Wifi extender and it has a another USB outlet.
plug in your iPhone too the screen will automatically go to full brightness when you have it charging.

Thanks for your replies gents. I did make a sun shade but it doesn't help much. I do have a power pack, i might plug it into the iPad whilst I'm using it and see if it brightens things up. I do have the auto brightness turned off and it is set to brightest.
