800 ft client request

Have a client wanting an 800 ft tower shot. Plan is to launch from the roof.
Assuming won't be any trouble w height if set altitude limit to 500 m (1500 ft)?
 
Yes but will the drone consider that ground zero or 800 ft?
Existentialist question basically
 
As stated above, the moment the Aircraft takes off that is 'ground ZERO" even if it's 800' above the ground. That's the reference point for everything else from that point on.

Very good. Wasn't sure if has built in altimeter. So basically i could fly 1500 ft over and above then. Navcan would of course not allow but one can always dream.
 
No altimeter but a fairly decent "hobby grade" barometer that does a decent job under most conditions.

To be safe I would remain within 400' of the structure both vertically and horizontally.

If you're asking about that, there might be a few other things you aren't up to speed on.
Be careful with the winds that might be active at that level.
