4k > 1080p crazy moire!? Help!

Everyone says that shooting in 4k and then downgrading to 1080p gives you a better image than shooting directly in 1080p, but when I change the sequence settings in Premiere to downsample my 4k 23.976f/s to 1080p 23.976f/s it gets super blurry and there is a ton of moire!! what am I doing wrong?? Thanks!

ps. I'm shooting D-log -3, -2, -3

why do you downsize to 1080p?

Are you seeing moire after export or just looking at it in a sequence? If the latter, make sure you're viewing 1:1. Premiere does funky stuff for realtime playback

Sweet thanks! this made a big difference, I was looking at the sequence in 1:2. Still some moire but there are a lot of buildings in the picture.

why do you downsize to 1080p?

I am downscaling to 1080p because I'm using the footage as part of a documentary im gonna render in 1080

choose 1080 60fps , i thinks so

Why go to 60fps when I shot the thing in 24fps?
