Im fixing my P3P. Need to order a new main board. I have the old 2312 motors. Im afraid that the boards they sell now are only for the 2312(a) motors. The current releases of both part 33 and Part 96 say that I should be using 2312(a) motors.

Any ideas?

Part 33 is compatible with the 2312 motors. Part 96 is compatible with 2312A motors. You should buy part 33 if you don't want to change all of your motors.

I agree with you and that's what I thought. I looked at a new Part 33, and it says its a Part 33 but the number on the back is not the same as my old one. The new board # is P01012.09 and the old one is P01012.07.

The instructions are even more confusing. They say do not use 2312 motors with the new Part 33, use the new motors 2312(a).

I have attached pictures. I dont want to risk attaching my old 2312's to this .09 board for fear of it not working and me not being able to return the board.

P01012.09 is part 96. It looks like you received the wrong board.

Yep thats what I was thinking, but this was from Adorama, a huge retailer in NYC. And I went online and saw these being advertised as Part 33 in a bunch of different places.

Rotorlogic has the correct picture and part number, advertised as Part 33 .07 board.

So the updated Part 33 is still P01012.07?
I think so. Maybe double check with Adorama. They should know for sure since they are selling the part.

I had the same question/problem. My P3P took a hard landing and I had to replace the part #33, P01012.07 main board. I was sent me a new factory sealed DJI black box with "Part #33" on it, but the board in the box, had a P01012.09 part number on it. In reading the instructions was equally confusing, so my take is, from researching the P01012.09 part information, I'll have to upgrade my original 2312 motors to the new 2312A motors. I'm not sure what DJI is packaging, but it is confusing. Any suggestions?

Saw this picture from a seller at eBay. Please take note of the encircled parts on the bottom pictures. Doesn't the 2nd picture on the right side resemble the board rideswings posted?

Who did you order the board from?

I think that DJI updated the main board for the Adv/Pro from the 07 to the 09. Although DJI and every other vendor I contacted says they have a Part 33, what they really have is Part 96. I have contacted Drone Nerds, Adorama, Rotologic, and almost every vendor on eBay and they advertise them as Part 33 but they are not. Many of them even show an 07 board in the ad, but what they send you is part 96 with an 09 number.

I ordered a Part 33 (with picture of 07 board on the ad) from Adorama and they sent me an 09 board. I called DJI and they had no clue about the numbers. I didnt want to risk soldering my 2312 motors on to the board they sent me for fear of 1) smoking the motors or the board and 2) voiding any warranty on the motors or the board because I soldered on to them. I sent the board back to Adorama for a refund. So until I find a working 07 board, I have 20 or more 2312 motors just sitting around.

You can try installing 2312(a) motors on to the Part 33 they sent you. Depending on who you ordered it from, it might be eligible for a refund if the motors dont spool up, or you get an esc error on DJI Go.

I decided to just order new 2312A motors for my new P01012.09 board. From what I read, I looks like they should work with the P01012.09 board. I don't really care what the box says on the sticker, I'm going with the part number on the top of the board and to be safe I'm replacing the motors. I called DJI support twice and they were equally confused, one said replace the motors and another time they said I could use the original 2312 motors. SO much for that help!

Good luck. Let us know how it turns out. Where are you going to get the motors from? And where did you get the board?

The board came from Helidirect and motors from Camrise in Brooklyn, NY. Hopefully I'll have them by the week end. I already have the board in place and just have to solder in the new motors once I get them and it should be skids up..... I hope. I'll post how it goes as soon as I get it together and test it. Everything I saw, referred to the P01012.09 board as a part 96 board which uses the 2312A motors. Based on that, I'm hoping things go well and I have the lastest and greatest in motors and controller board on my unit. .

I just got done testing the new board, P01012.09 with the new motors and everything worked just fine. Flew for about 30 minutes totaland everything appears to be working well. I guess time will tell int e long run as far as any damage to eother the board or the motors. Again, based on everything I was able to read and research I feel they are the right motors for the board.

Good for you. Did any part of job give you any trouble? Sometimes I have a hard time soldering back on the LED connectors because the main board solder points are so small.

The soldering was relatively easy for me, only because I do some electronic servicing for a living that requires soldering. I did however, have to use my cheater glasses, a fine point, low heat setting to do it. :)

I will mention one thing I learned from my research, I'm not sure why DJI charges $249.00 or a $100.00 more for a part 96, P01012.09 replacement board, when you can order the part 33, and get the P01012.09 board shipped to you at the cost of $149.00. Same board, just a $100.00 difference for the part 33 vs. 96.

Hmmmm. Maybe a DJI representative should comment on this.
Robert, please share with us here in the forums in case you'd have any further observations regarding this part 33, ..."09" board.

Its probably not important to them to pay any attention to selling these boards with all the new products they have coming out so they just haven't adjusted their price.

As I posted in a new thread I started a little earlier today I'm just going through the same thing with my S3 in that I'm replacing the fried P01103.05 board with a P01012.09. Admittedly I've only just started, the only issue I have so far is the additional socket next to where the compass socket is which is not present on the old board meaning I have nothing to plug into this and lack of sockets for the two antenna wires.
