Has anyone noticed fast power drain on the extender with switch off? Just wondering if my experience is the norm. Charged fully in the off position and disconnected for 24 hours. Found that when rechecking, still in off position, a day later it would charge for another 10 - 15 minutes before again showing full charge.

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. I just ordered one of these to Velcro to the back of the transmitter. It should be able to charge the extender and my cell phone at the same time. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0085O ... UTF8&psc=1

I did the same thing with a Jockery 7800 mah unit

Mine takes 5-6 hours to charge, but then lasts for 10 flights.
