where does the GPS signal come from

I am looking to turn off all location services, until I master ATTi mode. In other words, I don't want my app on my iPhone to know where I am. I turned off location services on my iPhone, and I have shielded my Phantom 3 from receiving GPS satellite signals. But, I still see the map on my app showing where I am. Where does this come from?

Sounds like a cached map. Clear the cache and turn off caching maps.
