What is on the underside of the phantom...is there foam on the bottom supporting the camera/gimbal or does it float above a layer of bottom foam?

The gimbal does not touch, it just floats above the bottom.

Thanks for that. I think I will order this case and use an extra bit of foam to support the gimbal/camera. I'd like to isolate it from movement as much as possible when I'm driving. The thought of it dangling inside the case freaks me out a little.

Which model is it, where did you get it?

Nothing to do with the case but the dangling of the camera... Do you use the plastic holder that came with the camera ? It's supposed to hold it still during transport. I've read some people think it pushes too much on the camera so they don't use it but it seems to me that it's its unique function, so I religiously put it back on after every flight session. Just wondering... See if i'll grab some extra foam to do a camera padded base.

Bless !

I also absolutely use it religiously, and I also don't find it difficult to put back on as others have reported. However, while it keeps the gimbal and the camera locked together nicely, the entire shock assembly still wiggles and I just figure that having it rest on a bed of foam is better for it in the long run than dangling free. Might be overkill, but doesn't cost anything to support it so I will.

Regarding case from HPRC. I receive one yeasterday and have to return. I spoke with HPRC in Italy and theyconfirmed that model HPRC 2700PHA2 ( NO WHEELS) Will have problems and its not going to fit easily, most probably props ned to be taken out. This case is to shallow to fit legs of phantom +. However case HPRC 2700WPHA2. ( with wheels) cost a litle more, it's higher, and no need to cut foam even. Anyway i know it is good to cut a little bottom foam in the middle to put phantom a bit lower. In that case props should be below level of all holes ( cuttings) I saw people, puting their Phantom and no complaining. But since the case is big enough you won't get any problem either.

Fully adjusted case from HPRC for our Phantom 2 vision + should be ready ( with wheels end of May) and case without wheels somewhere in June as they have to change the shape and height of case itself to suithantom perfectly.

HPRC is correct...you should remove the props for the Vision+...but, that is all that needs to be done. Otherwise, the + fits perfectly. FYI...any new case specifically for the + will just have to be bigger...ugh!!

Here is a post from a thread that is now buried, posted a week ago with pics on how the HPRC no wheels does not conform to the P2V+, with pics links to show how it just isn't deep enough.

I have just ordered HPRC2700PHA2 ( No wheels ) Shitty, They not send it yet, maybe there will be time to change that. Could please send us photos how exactly this case look like with Vision + ? I picked that case due to have a little smaller puting inside airplane. But from what you wrote looks that HPRC2700WPHA2 ( with wheels ) is a better solution.

In taking the open case photo, I tried to make sure the front of the case and back were level for an accurate representation, but, it may be off slightly. As you see, the motors sit up quite high. The top has enough space to close correctly, but requires your hand to push down on, as the lid foam resistance against the phantom is enough to stop it from closing on its own. It stops just short of closing with no pressure. Not a big deal, but you can probably see keeping the props on is a no go. Again, I like the case and it has enough room to carry the entire phantom setup plus 4 batteries, (only two dedicated spots, but I use other open areas) a tablet holder, Samsung tab 2.7.0 tablet, manuals, two sets of props, couple other trinkets. It just isn't "perfect" for the vision. Just not quite deep enough.

This rather boxy backpack style looks useful.
They have them at quadcopters.co.uk for less than amazon price

I had the tradecraft case. Sold it and got this backpack. Could not be happier. Take your case outdoors and you will quickly understand...

I have a GoProfessional case that I used for my P2V and am now using for my P2V+ and it works perfect, transmitter and all..
I've been looking at this one.. http://www.goprocases.com/phantom2backp ... ition.aspx

I purchased from GoPro cases a few minutes ago. HOWEVER, I would not recommend the one you linked to.

Get this one because of the foam size opening for the controller range extender:

Ya i noticed that after looking further at the site. Also, I would be interested in the weight of this backpack for comparison: http://www.quadcopters.co.uk/phantom-2- ... 1356-p.asp
The GoProfessional case seems a little heavy at 6.25lbs. I wonder if this other case is much lighter...

There seems to be some slight differences between the Vision 2 and Vision 2+.

I need a case but I want to make sure I order the correct version.

Do any retailers offer a new version yet?

This case works fine http://www.goprocases.com/xb-dji-vision.aspx. I have one and you can even call goprocases and they well tell you after studying the situation, the 1/4" height difference doesn't hurt a thing.

I also like the GoPro backpack after through comparison with a case.

Pro for a backpack:
-lighter and more mobile. Carry a 13-17 lb case + phantom would be close to 20 lb. Not ideal for hiking. Even for the ones that have wheels, they would be hard to drag it around.

Pro for a case:
-seems better protection. Good for travel on a plane when you have to check in the luggage. Not sure the backpack would survival after piling up with many other luggage.

One possible solution for both worlds is get gopro backpack and a regular "empty" case. When have the travel, put the backpack in the case.

I haven't purchased the backpack yet, could someone put some picture and info on how much protection it provides? Thanks in advance.

The case you bought, is it for p2v+? Where did you buy it from? What brand and model is it?
Thanks
