I was using my phantom 3 std to help look for a lost dog in a marsh. Reeds were 10 - 15 ft tall. Lost rc contact and drone went it RTH. Unfourtunaly rth is set at 100'. Trees were at 25'. Lost the done. Gave it an all out effort to find it but the mud was waist deep in areas and I couldn't get through. Lesson learned, the hard way. Good news, the dog was finally found!

RTH would rise up to 100' or stay at higher altitude, return to the take off point and then land. As mentioned above, I don't see why this would cause a loss.

If he was flying below the trees at the time of RTH , drone will hit the trees. We don't know the correct scenario.

I'm surprised how he was moving in a waist deep mud.

In that situation I may have took the time to make a styrofoam base temporarily connected to my landing gear. Maybe a ring from one of those toy foam poles. Hey guys, I recently bought a P3 standard. I absolutely love it after screwing around with toy quads for a year now. My question is can I set a mission with waypoints and shut the transmitter off?
