Video Feedback - What can I do to improve this shooting condition?

Hello Everyone,

Thanks in advance for assisting with this. I was playing around with my filters and shot on this day with an ND8. I was really having a hard time while in the field and even in post getting the lighting correct. There are some real shadow areas that I cannot get correct without ruining the brighter areas. I would appreciate your feedback.

What software are you editing in? You should be able to increase the shadow areas without effecting the highlights, I suspect you are applying some form of global adjustment.

I am using adobe premiere or cyberlink color director. I will see what kind of adjustments I can make to the highlights. Thanks!
 
Some good tips in that video esp setting the custom video style and D-Log mode. I'm able to pull in so much more shadow detail post production.
