Phantom 3 pro wont link to controller.

I have a phantom 3 pro that i just bought off of ebay that was untested and had no remote or battery. Got it today and unboxed it. It looks brand new and still has protective film on the camera. I already own a phantom 3 pro that i just crashed so i put a fully charged battery in the new one and fired up the controller and drone and went through the linking process through dji go and it will not link the drone to the controller. Could my issue be that the firmware on my controller is updated and possibly not in the drone i just bought ?
Thoughts and ideas welcome as im new to the drone world. I also have 2 more phantom 3 pros coming from ebay this week.

Welcome to the forum! I am practically certain it's a firmware mismatch that is causing your problem. However, be VERY careful with firmware. Firmware for dji phantoms is often filled with viruses that practically brick your drone! So be careful!

I ran the firmware update and the report on the sd card was that the firmware on it was up to date and was the exact firmware that i had just downloaded.
I have 2 more phantom pros coming this week one of which that was crashed so im gonna try linking that remote thinking my original remote may have a linking issue.

Ok so i shut everything off and restarted everything and somehow it managed to link to the controller. It kept giving me an imu warming up and didnt do anything at all so i recalibrated the imu and gimbal and it would start up and let me attempt takeoff (no props installed indoors) but now i have no image at all so now im currently working on that issue. If i can get that fixed i pretty much have a brand new drone.

Ive been finding them on ebay. One im getting is crashed and the shell is broken but is a complete setup with batteries, charger, controller, hard carry case and spare props and i paid $125 shipped.

Ah, I see. that makes sense Recently I fixed up an old dji phantom 3 pro.

I just swapped a camera from my original drone onto this one and now everything works 100%. Im going to disassemble the non working camera and check the ribbon connections and retry it. Im hoping it dont need a reflash because it sat too long. Watched a video on it this morni g and thats more work then i wanna do

The gimbal with no video probably needs the firmware on the gimbal board reflashed. This is a well know issue with the P3 pro after it has been in storage too long. It is fairly complex but if you take your time it can be done by anyone. I have the program for doing it. If you want to try just let me know and i will send you a link to the YouTube video that shows how to do it.

I just watched the video on how to do it. I just ordered a set of torque screwdrivers and a jewlers magnifying glasses, soldering iron and yeah im gonna attempt to do it myself. I just have to source the connections to flash the board and if you could send me the program that would be great.

Any recommendations on a serial to ttl adapter to do the flash ? Quite a few on amazon but im not Sure which would be reliable.
