Upgrading the stock antenna on Phantom.

I have a DJI Phantom with 2.4Ghz Controller and I get about 1000Meters. I am going wanting to get a couple of Km out of it, and this is doable with a higher gain antenna (From videos I have seen on YouTube) - I was just wondering if anyone here has attempted to add an aerial cable (I think its SMA connector or something like that) to the 2.4Ghz Controller so they can add there own antennas?

Any response would be greatly appreciated!
