Unfortunately it isn't physically possible to fly on just 3 motors, on a Hexacopter it is like the Typhoon H. I saw a video a while back with a guy that tried exactly that... EnjoyHas anyone had a motor stop inflight? Where you able to RTH on the three motors?
Thanks, Thought that was the case.Unfortunately it isn't physically possible to fly on just 3 motors, on a Hexacopter it is like the Typhoon H. I saw a video a while back with a guy that tried exactly that... Enjoy
Are your saying that a hexacopter will fly with only 3 motors running, 50% of its blades inoperable? Thanks, Thought that was the case.
Thanks. I just looked at the yuneec web site. They say the Typhoon H can lose two and still fly with the remaining four. Not that I would want to test it after laying out the funds for one but it certainly gives a little comfort space.I don't think that is being said, hex-copter can provide motor redundancy for a single motor failure.

Chinese math? Are your saying that a hexacopter will fly with only 3 motors running, 50% of its blades inoperable?
I don't understand what you mean by "Chinese math".Chinese math?
I interpreted that as it being able to fly if one motor quits.... still having 5 operational motors. Are your saying that a hexacopter will fly with only 3 motors running, 50% of its blades inoperable?
