Hi everyone,
Motor choice is always one of the most interesting parts of drone building. Recently I’ve had the chance to test setups using DJI, T-Motor, Emax, and Sunnysky motors, and here are some of my impressions:

🔹 DJI Motors E2000

  • Strong integration with DJI’s ecosystem
  • Very reliable in standard configurations
  • Downsides: less flexibility if you want to customize, and often heavier than others

🔹 Emax RS2205

  • Popular among FPV hobbyists
  • Affordable, with good performance-to-price ratio
  • Great for newcomers, though sometimes less durable under heavy use

🔹 T-Motor F40 Pro V5

  • Consistent performance across all batches (important for multi-rotor builds)
  • High efficiency → noticeably longer flight times with the same battery setup
  • Durable – bearings and shafts last even after crashes
  • Wide product line: from tiny FPV motors (M0702/M0803) to heavy-lift UAV motors (U8, U15, U30)
  • Relatively average in all aspects

🔹 Sunnysky X2216

  • Solid balance between cost and quality
  • Many DIY builders use them for mid-size projects
  • Performance is decent, but efficiency varies depending on the series

Also, I’m curious – which brand do you guys prefer for FPV, freestyle, or commercial drone builds? Have you noticed big differences in efficiency, durability, or handling between these brands?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts – always fun to learn from the community!

Hi, @dronedrone, my cousin uses the anti-gravity T-motors for on his Phantom 2s. They definitely have better performance on his drones. I personally have not tested them on my drones, but from what I've heard, they're reasonable. Plus, they look much cooler than the stock motors. However, I think the T-motors I am referring to are completely different than the ones you mentioned, but I think they're made by the same company. 👍👍😀

That is true. In my opinion, T-motor's motors perform well for their price, and in a way, t-motor's motors perform better than most motors I've tried! But I have not try all series of the brand,So my review is a bit incomplete
