I know this has come up before but after checking various threads this seems to be a new issue.

Yes USB debugging is turned on via developer options in settings.

I've had my P3 Pro for a while now working fine. I had put it away for around 4 months. I pulled out my android tablet and P3 pro tonight to do all the updates ready for a fly tomorrow.

The p3 controller now will no longer connect to the Android Kitkat 4.4 DJI GO app.

I have investigated and it appears Kitkat has had an update where it changes the USB port to charging instead of data. When I plug the controller into the tablet it does start charging and the app won't register that the controller is connected.

I had a read around about trying to change the setting and I was only able to find very complicated command line stuff for changing the settings on a phone and I am not familiar with Andoid to that extent. I have spent hours going through all the settings screens with no luck.

Surely other Andoid users have come across this? I am not going to go buy an iPad just because of an Andoid hidden setting. I will sell the Phantom 3 pro if it comes to that. Every time I turn this thing on I end up spending hours trying to get it going in a bit over it at the moment :(

After opening DJI GO, try swiping down from the top of the screen. You should see an option to change the USB setting.

No the option is not available. I read on another form to do that so I went searching for the actual setting. There is a screen in settings / xxx / where in the top right you click the button that looks like 3 vertical dots. When the tablet is plugged into my laptop the option is lit up and let's you change between data / power / camera etc. But when the DJI radio is plugged into the tablet it goes straight into some kind of charging mode and won't let you change it. It's never done this before. I took the tablet out and turned it in and it auto connected to my home network from the last time I used it and auto updated everything. Now it's stuck like this and I can't even roll it back as it appears to be an Android OS updated that's crippled it. I'm going to manually update the firmware by SD card on the bird, then I will plug the radio into the bird and see if it will update that way. With no way of connecting the radio to any app there's no other way for me to try and update it. If that fails then I'm going to rip the upgraded HDMI board off the radio and re install the original one. I know a lot of people have had failed HDMI boards from DJI.

Ok so I took off the upgraded HDMI board and put my old standard one on and bang working. I've seen so many people with failed upgraded HDMI boards now !! Including me !!
