I know that. Let me try another way. When you put S1 into Fail Safe mode or RTH (switch all the way down) do you also have to pull the right stick all the way down?

Looks like no one really answered your question, but I think you figured it out.

In Home Lock on the S2 switch you use the right stick to come home by pulling it back. Forward and back you fly a radius of a circle defined by the position of your quad (assuming it is more than 10 meters away). Right and left on the right stick move the quad along the circle keeping the same distance.

In RTH on the S1 switch you don't do anything and it comes back and lands.

Think of it this way. If your tx batteries failed or you turned off tx to initate RTH, you wouldn't be able to have any stick input.
