Photos saving to phone when SD card is full

Whilst flying my Phantom 4, the recording stopped and said sd card full. A message popped up saying cache images and videos to your phones storage space. all videos were shot in 4k at 25 frames and all photos taken in raw with auto white balance.
the question I'm asking is, is there a way to get those photos that were cached to my phone to better quality?
The videos came out terrible and photos were blurry. or is this just a case of unlucky and always need to back up old footage and photos before filming new content.

First off, welcome to the group! Unfortunately the answer to your question is no, All cached photos and video are at a much lower resolution. sorry bud :(

Raw image files are big. 4K video files are very big.
Getting into the habit of swapping SD cards each flight is a good idea.
Once you've brought the Phantom in with image files on the SD card, it's a good idea to keep sending them out on subsequent flights.
Something like this helps if you do a lot of flying:
