Will the p4 drift out of the max distance set in the dji go app in atti mode "500m" or will it stop ? In P & S mode it states max distance reached and wont let you go any further. Has any body had any experience with this cheers

It will only drift beyond the max distance if it's flying in ATTI mode.

I haven't even taken delivery of mine yet but from my reading of the manual and on this forum if you are talking horizontal distance away then because atti mode ignores GPS the Phantom has no indication of its position and so would not be affected by any limits set in DJI GO. If you really mean vertical height then the limit of 500 metres is set by the barometer which is active in all modes and in theory can't be exceeded in any mode. If you are in the USA then they have a vertical limit of 400 feet above ground level I think is also set by the barometer so works in all modes.

Hi, I have flown mine in all modes and been having a great time of it as I am sure you will when you get yours. Our ceiling height here in the UK is 400 foot too. Flying in atti mode is just great fun as I love how it will just drift with no input from the sticks. Windy conditions can be pretty challenging too.

You can go into the settings and disable the max distance settings. The max ALTITUDE has a hard limit of 500 m, regardless of mode.

Yes I know I can disable the pre-set limit but then I would be breaking CAA rules in my country

500m is the absolute limit on the altitude irrespective of the flying mode selected. This is of course subjected to the accuracies of the internal barometer.

If you are setting a limit on the max distance, it will be effective only in gps mode.
