I have a Phantom 3 SE and I use an Apple iPad Mini 4 that I use with the remote controller. I have an issue with the WiFi connection dropping out and have been trying to obtain a direct connection between the two and cannot find anything locally, is there a direct connection cable available elsewhere?

No. You can only connect via Wi-Fi.

Is the iPad wifi disconnecting from the drone and connecting to a different wifi source if so you may have to delete/ Forget the other wifi connections and just have the drone one you can reconnect the other ones later Also close the 20 other apps you have running as well as internet windows in Safari
