Phantom 3 professional controller problem

I've just been given a great phantom 3 pro as I was setting it up the green lights were on the drone and the controller I was trying to update something on the controller but got fed up and turned it off,now it won't turn back on again, this is my first drone and I wish I had joined here first before I started fiddling about with something I don't know, any help would be great.

You have a P3P bird.
You have the P3P controller.
Green lights on both was good!

Is there a mobile device related to this update?

I can come with 20+ questions right now.

#1 Messing with the firmware is the last thing you want to try. REALLY.

Is it possible that you are not using the correct power on sequence for the controller? Press once, then press and hold the on button.

It is most unfortunate that you committed 2 sins with your Phantom. 1) Never update these birds or controllers. 2) Let the process complete…uninterrupted.
You may have fried it as many others have experienced.
