I was trying to map a small creek area with my Phantom 4 RTK a few days ago in a canyon when it was a little breezy and squirrely. The local forecast was for 10-15 mph winds without significant gusts but wind picked up shortly after launching and I started to get wind warnings so aborted and did a RTH. In a momentary lapse of judgement, I stupidly decided to let it land on its own on the home point (should have just hovered and grabbed it) and just before it set down (about 6" off the ground), a strong rogue gust pushed it backward about five feet into a clump of tall bunch grass which caused it to tip backward causing the rear props to hit the dirt. It stayed tipped backwards for a couple of seconds before I could grab it. It all happened in an instant and I’m not exactly sure what I saw, but at least one, and maybe both, of the rear props couldn’t spin for those couple of seconds since they were hitting the ground. I suspect that didn’t do the motors any good. Is that typically enough to damage a motor where is should be replaced? Are there DJI utilities for testing the motors to look for issues? If I need to send it in for assessment and service, is there someone that still services the P4 RTK (I'm in Colorado)? Thanks.
