I need a taking off pad, not too bothered about landing as I've adopted a nice Meadowlark Lemon technique for catching. Taking off from wet grass or mud is a different matter though.

I enjoy smooth landing on hard surface.

I use a piece of black coroplast to take off and land on sandy or wet surfaces.

My wife uses a piece of neoprene (wet-suit material). It's heavy enough to not blow away, you can hose it down and roll it up as well.
