Newbie with P4 firmware/software confusion update yes no roll back ?

Hello to everyone , I have purchased a new P4 still in the box , have been starting my education online and buy reading this forum for several days.
I feel pretty confident in all things except one!
The Issue of software and firmware what do I do update roll back leave it alone ?Don't want to start with issues right out of the box!
I'm disappointed that DJI has so many issues with this.
Your help is much appreciated thank you.

I'm going to use a Samsung A7 tab until I can get a IPad

I'm still just struggling to get past all the negative comments I'm reading on the software even on the App Store just full of negativity.
And several threads on this forum with members struggling.
As a new pilot I'm really debating if this is something I want to stay invested in just because of the software/firmware?
