Need help with a drone business

So I was contacted by a business investor who knows I have done some freelance work with my drone. We talked today on the phone and he wants to invest in drone services/selling them as a reseller. He has a facility and infrastructure to do so.

Issue is I'm just a pilot and don't know much about the drone business side.

Any articles or help on what we can offer as a business would be great. I plan on meeting him next week to check out his facility. He wants to maybe hire me as a business development manager.

With all due respect.... your best bet for success is either taking some business classes or getting an experienced business partner to handle "Business" for you. So many people don't understand their own strengths and weaknesses and try to run a true business and end up failing.

Your local Community College most likely has a very good Small Business Center where you can get guidance and support.

By saying "I'm just a pilot" is the best thing you could say. If you don't know business don't experiment as a business if you can't afford the learning curve.

Thanks for the input. Well I wouldn't be owning the business or even running it that's what the owner would be responsible doing. He just wants someone as a pilot and someone with knowledge of the drone field. I would be helping determine what we can offer as services things like that. Don't think a course is needed for that. Maybe if I was going to open my own business, yes.

No worries Big Al! Yea more or less the drone pilot and business development manager.

Everything still in the works but he sounds serious in investing in it.

Depends where you're located (may be more or less demand), but the real money is in agriculture and construction site survey/mapping - and it's good you have someone willing to invest, because the equipment required for startup in those areas will be steep.
