Moon Gel for Vibration?

To me it seems more like voodoo, this putting the moongel on the camera instead of damping vibes before they reach the camera. All you do is add mass. Unless there is some physical principle I am not aware that makes the moongel move in the opposite direction of the vibes applied to it.

Inertia. Knowing nothing about moongel, I am guessing the principle is a semi-viscous substance that provides inertial dampening by naturally opposing sudden changes in velocity.
