loss of signal on ground station mission?

I set up a test flight that had more distance than what the transmitter would handle.I lost wi-fi which is normal. Also had trees in the way. But being I'm flying a GPS route does one just ignore the loss of signal warning and wait for it to complete it's mission?When you lose signal the little airplane icon quits moving along the flight path. Gets a little nerve racking when you can not see or hear anything. Flying blind. Is all of this normal? Thanks, KAD
