Let's see some videos!

Youtube says this may not show in some countries (due to soundtrack) but I was quite pleased with this taken about 10pm the other day.

I like it.

I can't wait to get up to The Dales next year to give mine a go with a few early/late starts.

Looks awesome! I've never flown mine at night, isn't that scary?
Ironically its easier to fly nights.
The lights are so bright.

If you are filming at night (most likely), tape up the fwd lights so the red does not bleed into the video. Also use 25fps to slow the shutter down so it can capture more light.

I will be doing some night exposure settings soon with 1080p30 and 720p60.

Here is my first test flight with my recently purchased Vision+. Nothing fancy though:

@ethemtolga

Your record is very sharp, well done.. Were your camera settings automatic? Can you share if not?

Thank you. As far as I remember I recorded video at 1080p/30 and used these settings: ISO 100/WB Sunny/Metering-Center Weighted/-0.3 Comp. / Sharpness-Std

Up close & personal with the twin 700' exhaust stacks of Brandon Shores coal-fired power plant in Pasadena, MD.

20+ MPH winds. This thing is such a blast!

Fantastic video quality. Some of the vision+ videos seem too grainy on this topic but how is yours so sharp? Is there any trick you can advice us?

Thank you. I think it was just a bright, sunny day, low humidity, and the sun was at my back when I was approaching the stacks. I was noticing the same thing (the clarity) when I first watched the video. They don't always turn out that way. I think it was just the lighting was perfect. I was in full auto @ 1080p*30, BTW.

You know I wanted to land on top of that stack so bad...I was right there! If it would have been calm I would have too, but I was afraid the Phantom might be blown off the top! The gimbal conceals how windy it was. Steady 20 mph winds with gusts...its why I hand landed at the end...I never do that!

Went back to Ft. Armistead Park on Saturday for another flight out over the bay. The weather was sweet..sunny with scattered clouds, 72 degrees, no humidity. It was VERY windy though..20 mph steady with gusts. Always impresses me how well the Phantom handles winds. In this video I shattered my previous distance record by 1300', making it 6100' before losing control signal!

6100' stock...personal best!

In the second flight, I flew over a small cruise ship. Have to find out when the big ones are in town?

Took the boat out for a spin with my Vision 2+ in Kaneohe Bay on Oahu.

Great flying. Love the shots over the bridge. My depth perception using my phone is not good enough to do anything like that yet, practice I guess.
That's awesome range you got. I know weather can play a large factor.
A question for you. I think I read that you don't get as good range distance flying vertically above you as you would away from you. Is this correct?

Thank you. Correct, you do not get as much range directly overhead as you would out at a distance laterally. The reason is you are in the Phantom's weak spot...its antenna "tips" are pointing directly at you. When flying directly overhead, you would want your controller antenna to be parallel to the ground to give you the best possible signal.
