Let's see some videos!

Thanks guys. Only had the PV2+ for about a month and this was the most challenging flight by far in dealing with wind, boat speed, etc. Positive note about shooting off a boat in a bay is that there are no trees, wires, or buildings to contend with!

Nice work! I've had mine about two weeks now.

I'm addicted to flying over water. It does feel easier without any obstacles in the way.

We'll be going to Oahu for a few days in October 2014 and then going to the Big Island. I'll be bringing my P2V+ with me.

Here are a few of my newest videos -

I just did my first sideways flying today at Crystal Cove Park. There were some people jumping off a rock formation in to the ocean and I got at least one of them jumping while flying past. Uploading those videos now.

Very cool. You are going to love flying in Hawaii. Just keep in mind that I have found that there are parts of the island that can be spotty with the PV2+ FPV system which results in a broken connection. Can be pretty unnerving if the bird is out of sight.

First flight video of vision plus

Took the plunge after having an fc40 for about a month and bought myself a vision+. I originally bought a vision+ as a present for my son but was amazed by his when it arrived so I treated myself to an fc40. Now the bug has bit so I bought myself a vision plus.
Went around my in laws yesterday to do a video of there house. Yes I know it's no where near the standard you guys are used to seeing but no doubt I'll get better.
Like I say I'm new to this so any constructive criticism is welcomed.

This is going to be great for our surfing and beach holidays.

Flight Day 3

I flew again today and with each flight I gain more and more confidence in both the Phantom's capabilities and mine.

Today I flew over significant water (something I have been nervous about up until now). I also flew with FPV off, something I wouldn't have even thought of unless other members had suggested it. I didn't even know how to turn it off before then.

I'm still a little shakey with port and starboard when flying toward myself, but I'll get the hang of it soon enough.

I also tried to use my iPad Mini to operate the app instead of my iPhone, but for some reason the iPad Mini would not connect to the Phantom wifi signal. I gave up on that and stayed with the iPhone.

Here is a video of a part of today's flights (I flew the same pattern twice before I remember to turn on the video (so I ended up flying the same pattern three times just to get the video).

Re: Flight Day 3

very strange... in one part of your video I could see the legs of your phantom. I've never once noticed that on mine. Are you using the stock Vision+ gimbal and camera? Nice video!

Re: Flight Day 3

The building is the National Wildlife Visitor Center at the Patuxent Research Refuge. I actually thought I had started rolling and then realized at altitude that I hadn't (obviously). Thanks for the landing compliment - I've been working on those after my first rollover!

I am still a little concerned about losing sight of the bird at long distances, because if the app loses lock, I would have to return via the RTH method. Speaking of which, I couldn't have done that today because I launched from under a tree and then had to fly out from under it to climb to altitude.
(Note to self: try not to launch from under any trees if at all possible, since RTH will come back through the trees - not good)

Thanks, yes all stock. At times I get the rotation of the left stick mixed up with the side-slip of the right stick. When I side-slip, the gimbal stays stable (if not in FPV) and sees the landing gear momentarily.

Teardown Video on YouTube

Hiya,

I'm Pete, DJI Phantom Vision 2 + n00b and like many others before me I had a very minor low altitude crash that buckled the shell on the arm.

It was impossible to find good documentation or even a thorough teardown video, so I just dove in and filmed it with my gopro cam.

I'm new at this, NOT an expert just ambitious and refuse to rely on DJI as it's been nearly a month and they won't return emails or my call. I hope this benefits someone!

Warning! This video has ZERO entertainment value!

Pete

Wow! Can't believe you showed 2 hrs of video and didn't show off the final product at the end with it turned on and motors running!! :) Awesome job! I assume it works? ;) I actually considered taking mine apart to paint the body but after watching and skimming through your 2hr video, I think i'll pass on that one... haha

This is awesome Pete!
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this.

I'm sure a lot of us will be referring to this video.
I’ve not watched the whole video yet. Do you mention the size of the screws etc.? I had a lot of trouble removing those small Philips head screw’s. Any tips?
I too bent an arm. I watched other video’s for reference. Instead of replacing the shell I just removed the top shell, removed motor, removed electrical board and softened up with a heat gun and gently bent back though it still has cracks at the bent point. So far so good though. I would like to replace the shell. Now with your video I will.

Thanks again 

This is probably not the correct place for this.
It shoould have it's own post or even a STICKY rather get lost on the video's discussion.
