Correct me if I'm wrong but to me it seems like your adding more weight to the lower arm of the camera. All the videos and pictures i have seen the arm snaps at the top of the arm just before the 90 degree turn. Adding weight to the lower arm just makes it easier to snap.

It adds just 3 grams.

Good call, that flimsy plastic L shaped arm is weak... Why didn't they use aluminum or something stronger? Any way to reinforce it?
