ITElite DBS Mod Not easy!!

Are any of you guys still able to put your RC with this mod into any of the cases designed for the P3?
Thanks.
Yes my controller fits in my backpack without having to remove the itelite antenna but it has a quick release mount and it would only take about 5 seconds to take off anyway

They are rg402 sma male to rp sma male right angle . If you do a search on eBay you'll find several places to get them. I prefer the 6 inch cables but the 4 inch works too.

All of the sellers on eBay are from China or hong kong .. Anyone find them in the U.S.?

I just finished the install of my new DBS Mod and it was challenging to say the least. From start to finish I was a little under an hour. It was successful but lets say I may of lost weight as I was sweating through many stages. I can see now the reason why many are damaging the ribbon cable is not just from getting it out or getting it back in the slot but the hard part is getting it back in position through the slot back to the board it fits into . I will admit I was shocked to see the size of the ribbon cable and I can see now that strictly using your fingers(I wear latex gloves) will not work with these ribbon cable as they are too small. As I said in other posts I am a computer support specialist and have been working on computers for almost 20 years and installing or replacing a ribbon cable is far from a new event for me. This is a challenging install and the amount of things that can go wrong are many. My suggestion to anyone who is not 100% into this sort of thing is send your remote to DBS or I think you will likely be out the cost of a new remote. In hindsight I would've sent mine to them even though all appears to be working fine.
I finally got to test the new DBS Ielite mod to my remote!! I am very happy with it and flew 3200 metre with heavy interference yesterday! Thick woods, large hills, power lines etc and still I think I could of went alot farther only for lack of balls. Landed with 33 percent battery after flying a total of 7893 metres but a total of 3200 from my homepoint

Awesome result Tony  ... great to see results out there in the thick of things... I don't get to fly around heavily congested areas like this at all so watching you guys push the limits with interference and obstacles etc is pretty **** cool bro

2 tons of fun out there and FLY SAFE!!

I ordered my install yesterday... Now I wait for the instructions to mail in my controller as I expect I'm in line, behind 25 of you...

I CAN'T WAIT TO FLY!

I am very happy with this MOD it works great!! I am gonna test it to the max but doing it slowly l
Thx for the positive comments a I know 3kms is not much for many here .....

I got my DBS antenna yesterday and it took about an hour to install. I managed to track the cables back under the original control sticks. I tested the P3P line of sight and it seemed solid however I did notice that you have to be pretty accurate for line of sight which I understood maybe the case. I'm currently also testing the extra channels to increase range and decrease wifi interference.. So far it seems good. I wanted to purchase another controller but it seems that only one controller can be pair with the drone. Never mind.

I've found that the litchi app with 31 channels and auto select gives me a much more stable signal at long ranges compared to the 32 channel hack. I was using channel 31 or 32 with the channel hack and it worked great until about 3 miles out. With litchi II have full bars I whole out even at 3.5 miles. The only reason I turned around was because of the battery but I landed with 31% so she has a little bit more range in her. Going for 4 miles this evening and we'll see if the stock battery can do it. Im not worried about the signal since I have the DBS itelite antenna , just the battery. But in my opinion litchi is better for long range flights than the go app.

Just flew out to 2000m/6500ft with the below full Aluminium windsurfer...full signals throughout, did go to 2 bar red at times but when positioning the controller/RC correctly went back to full bars this is so far my personal best in a really high interference area, my max altitude was 165m, could of gone further but was at the verge of soiling my pants looool, on stock without windsurfer I have lost connection at 600m, with 3D printed windsurfer 1200m, full aluminium windsurfer 2000m and with DBS I bottled out when I reached 1600m before I put it away (plus weather was shite and was pretty windy when testing) :p

Wind speed here in London is perfect tonight, flew out with speeds of 12ms-15ms and flew back with 12ms-15ms even at 165meters altitude could of gone faster both ways but took it easy.

Will be going abroad in December will test the full Aluminium version, 3D printed version as well as my DBS modded controller, I have previously used a 3D printed windsurfer with aluminium foil backing but that was constantly dropping connection.

In December I will be in Bangladesh surrounded by nothing but open fields and small villages, with 0 interference, max wind speed will be no more then 2-4mph with max temperature being 28 degrees and lowest being 18 degrees at night, visibility is literally miles and miles, can see villages upto 2-3 miles away by standing on the road during the day lol, I seriously cannot wait to fly my P3 there and oh oh the scenary is awsome there too.
