HELP PLEASE! Phantom RC Assistant

I just got a Phantom. I installed Phantom RC Assistant and connected my transmitter via the internal mini usb as directed. When I power the transmitter on, I can hear the computer noise indicating the usb connection is activated. In Phantom RC Assistant, the connection circles never light up and it doesn't see the transmitter. I tried this on two computers - no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Did you install the Windows drivers from DJI first? (assuming you are on Windows as you did not say)
