I have one question, this system uses wifi correct? Well my question is, if I'm in a open field were will I get a wifi connection from? I will be getting my new Phantom 3 standard soon.

The Wi-Fi connection is between the Phantom and remote controller. So, it'll still work in the middle of nowhere. And, that would be a preferred location to fly since there would be less potential interference.
