Can you explain why my drone was hovering at around 4 feet , but the altitude on the screen said 8 feet.

Have you calibrated the compass?
Did you go over a small Hill or change in elevation?
-like a curb onto a street

Here are a few possible reasons:

• You were not hovering directly above the takeoff location (the altitude is measured from the ground over top of the takeoff location)
• The altitude is calculated using data from the barometer, so it's usually not 100% accurate

If the altitude is consistently off by 4+ feet, you could try calibrating the IMU.

No, it's not.
Calibrating the compass is only useful if there is a compass problem that requires calibration.

It went up to its normal 4 feet mark from takeoff and whilst hovering their i was checking the screen thats when i noticed the difference.
Calibration was done a few mins before takeoff and all seemed fine.
