I just got this 3pro over the weekend. It worked when I got it and when I got home. Now (after trying to update it) it sounds like an old modem and won't do anything. Im wondering if it trash or how to fix it. I have tried to reset it, charged it overnight. When I hook it to my Mac, it says its up to date. I have no clue whats wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

First, Never Update unless absolutely needed. Fixing a failed update can be problematic. Any pop-up saying that an update is available can be ignored.

Did you keep a fan on the drone during update? They are known to overheat when sitting idle, with no props running to cool. Damage can and often does occur during long updates.

What exactly are the drone and remote doing, beeping, squealing? What color and which lights are on? Does it charge?

300C is the remote. Is that what you updated? Making sounds?

Many remote problems can be solved by doing a calibration. Shown under (RC) Settings

Does it have video transmission? And what does it say about which firmware version it has now, the drone and the remote controller?

Yeah I did the update on AC just fine. I can not even get the RC to connect to my galaxy s9+ anymore.

Nope no video. It just says how to connect to the RC in the app. This is the txt file that is on sd card when I took it out of the AC. When I put just the bin file on the card and leave it in the RC for 45 mins, nothing happens. I tried the " hold three lines in the upper right corner of the app" and its say either there is no firmware or it cant read it, because its blank.

Flashing red light on the gimbal, and it looks like nothing on the RC.

When you attempt to link them together, are you pressing the link button on the side of the OFDM module? When you do press it, does the remote make a beep-beep noise? The power light on the remote should be green when the rc is paired with the ac. When the rc is wanting to link with the ac, the power light should be blue.
I’m sure you probably already know that.

It has been more than 5 years since updating the RC’s FW switched over to via the app only. In other words, SD cards were no longer used to update the RC since FW v1.3.2 / v1.4.1 around mid 2015.

I seem to recall it was the end of 2015 when we first saw 300C RCs emerge. December 2015 or so, but they became more common in early 2016. I’d say that based on that timing, it’s likely that 300C RCs were released after the FW update process change and that no 300C has ever been updated with the old SD card process.

Since your AC has v1.11.20, your RC should be v1.6 or later though v1.9.2 is probably best in your case.

Do you know which FW versions you had working on the AC and on the RC before making changes?

FYI, since you updated your AC to v1.11.20, make sure you understand the important impacts of that particular FW version. Click here for more info.

Also, if you are interested click here for a list of tips I often share with new P3P / P3A owners.

I am not sure which firmware the RC was on before I tried unfortunately. I would try updating with the app but the controller and app are like a couple in a fight and not talking to each other.

I have updated remote controller using a thumb drive with the firmware loaded on it, inserted in the USB port of the remote controller.

Me too, but not since installing FW v1.4.1 on my GL300A back in late 2015.

I did a GL300A about a month ago, after re-flashing the board. I believe it was fw 1.9.2 I think.
If DJI restored the ability to do routine updates on an RC via the old USB/SD card method, then this is the first time I’ve heard of it since they dropped that method in 2015.

I’d love to know for sure so that I can edit my tips post and so that I can be sure to give accurate advice going forward.

By the way, your tips post is most excellent ?
