Only if your update is corrupted in the download. But unlike the 3s, you can back it down in firmware or redo.
The 3s simply doesn't have the support the other models have (understandably in some ways). Could have swapped it out for another one, but why take the chance of being in the same situation 90 days out?
Also, Mavic has some seriously cool features.
