First question new owner

Hi all, can't seem to find anything mentioned about these :

Reading here seems it's pretty common to have damage to the gimbal and or ribbon cable in the event of
a crash. Is this item a good idea?

I think many of us use these protectors,they should help stop the camera separating from the gimbal, however a crash that was sufficient to separate the camera is probably enough to do significant damage elsewhere anyway.

Thanks, thought they may introduce some kind of interference to the sensors or weight issue.. appreciate your response.
