Hello Everyone,

FDNY used their drone for the first time the other night. They have 3, costing 75 thousand a piece. They include a FLIR camera.

The Department tethers them up to 200 feet for now.

Despite the cost this will also be a potential cost saver. Current procedures is a FDNY Batt. Chief boards a NYPD helicopter to observe the fire scene from above to assist the incident commander at multiply alarm incidents
