I just saw a story on NBC News this evening covering a major fire in NYC that broke out early this morning.
5 alarm blaze that did significant damage to a strip mall......
It was so intense, at times, that firefighters were forced to retreat due to explosions.

The NYC Fire Department deployed a drone to fly over the roof of the structure to determine the extend of damage to the roof area.

Much better to use to drone than to risk sending firemen up to check it out.

Great story of how drones are utilized in emergency situations assisting first responders.

Always good to see a positive story about drones......

Fire in Chinatown this morning, 3-alarm, I watched FDNY send up a drone, even with personnel already on the roof.

Lots of tools have good uses and offer idiots the opportunities of abuse.
