Hi
Manual for P4P+ says under Failsafe pg 15 says it will
"retrace its original flight route home"
but
if I fly a little route and then turn off the RC
the AC simply does Smart RTH, ie goes up to return altitude and then directly to home then land; it does not retrace the route
so what am I missing?
Thank you

It will only retrace the route for about 60 seconds (to try reestablishing the connection) if the remote controller disconnects from the Phantom while flying. For some reason, powering off the remote controller does not trigger that functionality (I've tried it too).

Thank you.
Then how does one test the Failsafe RTH function?
Or maybe
one should not.

I tested it by blocking the remote controller antennas to cause it to disconnect.

Cool. How did you block 'em?
Thanks

I moved the remote controller behind my house.

Cool. Thanks.

Thank you.

No need to doubt RTH so long as GPS is valid and you have set height correctly and have adequate battery power available

That is true but
This is not so much doubt as curiosity, just how do things work
as I drink an Iron Horse Irish Death
Thanks
