Do you put the gimbal protector when carrying the phantom?

For short travels with a backpack or case.. Is the gimbal stabilizer needed or is it OK for it to move around in transit?
 
I'd recommend putting your gimbal protector on whenever you're not flying. Without something to hold the camera and gimbal in place damage could happen. I'd rather not find out....

I always put it on when I'm not flying, even when I'm swapping batteries.

I always keep mine on too. You really don't want your gimbal bouncing around at all when it's not powered up.

Keep it on when not flying.
Also, if you remove it, there is a chance you may lose it. Nothing worse then needing it when you have misplaced it.

Yes. And I tied a long piece of red ribbon to it so I remember to take it off prior to flight!!
