DJI Phantom 3 Professional $550.00 (DJI Refurbished Unit)

I believe the older motors will handle more weight (battery mods) than the newer motors without spewing motor overload errors. Also, the old motor craft were registered with the FCC to output higher RF signals. Whether that's still true I don't know.

Well she's perfect! I went over everything and I can't find anything wrong. I truly looks like and New Old Stock one. As other have reported, all the plastic covers and/or protectors were in place. No battery charge cycles, no flights. Side box says it's a W323 with GL300C.

Here is a screen shot of the software that she's running.

Any reason to update to the latest one?

I'll try and fly tomorrow and report back on how it goes.

I got a P3P refurb and was quite happy UNTIL I realized that there are some problems that require DJI support :-(
1. Even with more than 10 satellites in an open field, the hover is very unsteady. Even worse, if you try to keep it steady at 10 feet off the ground it will slowly inch down to just a few inches above ground.
2. Vibration and noise are problematic. It doesn't sound consistent, sometimes it's louder and sometimes it's quieter. Also the bird vibrates quite badly.

I've recalibrate the IMU and compass a few times to no avail.

Not too happy about having to get support on a new (to me) drone. I just got it less than a month ago. I've emailed DJI Support but don't have great expectations on how quickly they'll respond.

Guess you've updated to all the latest FWs? If I'd try that.

Thanks for the tip. This is probably a dumb question but doesn't it notify you if a newer firmware is available? I did not see indications that a new firmware was available in DJI GO. I will check manually when I get home for sure though. :)

Hello

It does for me. When you first click "camera" on the DJI go app, it will show you the status of everything. At the very top, there is the software update notification if it's needed.

Got mine this morning, looks like brand new, now just have to figure out how to do the setup. Going to be a long time before setup though, controller would not power on and only has one light blinking, so will have to wait likely several hours for an adequate charge.

I am really torn on this and would love some feedback. I am torn between a Mavic or this P3P for such an awesome price. I don't want my P3S any longer due to the range. I enjoy the P3 platform so I know I would be happy with the P3P. My case and batteries will swap over. I love the size of the Mavic but for my photography the camera isn't much different. I am just not sure I can stomach the price tag on the Mavic. Anything else I am forgetting here?

im in a similar place, i'm gonna get a second setup .. either a p4 or a mavic. I've got 2 p3's already, so im leaning toward the mavic solely for its portability. its small, will fit in a backpack and i can take it with me sooooo much easier, i love the outdoors so it makes more sense. Issue is, I know im gonna be in 1200 for the mavic, 2 extra bats and extra props, and the p3p or even p4 are about half.

Received mine a few days ago, from the dronenerds ebay store. I'm new to DJI but not model aviation. It appeared as new (with the new style motors), and I had no trouble flying the craft and taking some test video. I was pleased to find it came with a 16GB card installed, although I didn't see it as included in the listing. After that, I sat down and did some reading here and elsewhere to find the optimal firmware. The DJI Go app said I had the following versions:

App 3.1.5
Version 1.5.30+
Remote 1.8.0

I tried a few FW updates, as far as the most recent available on DJI's site (01.10.0090), but it kept failing. Then I read about the FW update log that was in a hidden folder on the SD card... I don't usually leave hidden files and folders turned on to avoid clutter, so never saw it until I was informed to look. :) These are the last few lines shown below, after my attempts to change the firmware. Unless I am misinterpreting the log, it appears the FW installed on mine is 1.11.0010. Which exists virtually nowhere. The timestamps are also wacky.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Download and extract the firmware file from DJi, the one specifically for the P3 Professional. Place the file, it should be a .bin file (turn on file extension viewing from your PC so you can see the .bin name of the file). Place the file one level deep on the SD card, meaning don't copy it into any subdirectories on the SD card. Open the SD card up from the computer and copy there. Place the SD card in the P3 (I always make sure to have a full battery) then turn the P3 on and let it go. When it's done the little LED light on the front of the gimbal will stay green instead of flashing red then green and he P3 will make a beep....(pause)..beep beep noise over and over again.

I did exactly that, as you can see in the log above, it's obvious.

Since the version installed on my P3P is apparently 1.11.0010 and the latest available from DJI is 01.10.0090, it refuses to downgrade. And, not coincidentally, 1.10.0090 is also not automatically downgradable.

So what the heck is 1.11.0010 firmware?

Got mine last Thursday and every day since we have had winds 15-20 mph and gusts to 35+. Want to try it out!!! Looks like it might be better on Tuesday though.

Got mine last Friday, took it camping with me. Too windy. Have to wait till Monday. Looks just like new. (Cross fingers here).

I know what you mean.. Mine took so darn long to accept a charge when I first got it that I thought the controller was broken (wold only blink one light for over an hour)... Leave it plugged up for a long time.. It will eventually charge up..
